Discovered by the Mayans, Jamaica is a tea made by boiling hibiscus flowers with water and sugar, and is served over ice. It has been said that this healing water can reduce blood pressure and lower cholesterol, however, when I was living in Mexico for school, my host family would serve it warm with honey whenever I was feeling under the weather.

This bowl is packed with antioxidants, protein and fibre, and is oh so delicious! The subtle after taste of Hibiscus combined with the creaminess of the yogurt and tartness of the cherries is the perfect combo!

1/2 Frozen Banana
1/2 Cup Frozen Sweet Cherries
2 Tbsp Siggis Plain Skyr
1 Tbsp Raw Honey
Homemade Hibiscus Water- (See Below)
*Mix in blender adding hibiscus water until smoothie consistency. Top with chia, granola and cherries. –
RECIPE- The Hibiscus Water
1/3 Cup Dry Hibiscus Flowers
1 Cup Water
1 Tbsp Raw Honey
*Simmer the above ingredients over low heat for 20 minutes. Place in fridge to sit (with flowers) at least 1 hour. Before using, strain flowers.
